India shipped 38 million items of wearables in first half of 2022: IDC

India shipped 38 million items of wearables within the first half of calendar 2022, marking a year-on-year progress of 66%, the Worldwide Information Company (IDC) stated on Wednesday.

Based on IDC’s India Month-to-month Wearable Machine Tracker, 23.9 million wearable gadgets have been shipped within the second quarter (April-June), rising by 113% year-on-year, whereas 38 million items have been shipped within the first and second quarter put collectively. Affordability remained a key progress lever and the common promoting worth (ASP) declined by 7.2% year-on-year in Q2, IDC reported.

Hearables accounted for 72.6% of the general wearables class. Really wi-fi (TWS) now accounts for half of the earwear shipments rising by 187.4% year-on-year, the analyst agency additional stated. “Manufacturers proceed to compete on reducing the worth factors. The options earlier obtainable at mid/excessive worth factors similar to Bluetooth calling, larger display sizes, and AMOLED shows are getting launched at cheaper price factors.
